Amazon has continuously bolstered the Echo's capabilities since it released the voice-controlled virtual assistant to the general public last summer.

The Echo, Amazon’s wireless speaker and household virtual assistant, is a pretty smart little gadget, and it continues to pick up new tricks as time goes on. In the most recent update, the Amazon Echo learned how to report NFL scores and give movie showtimes.

According to Engadget, you can now ask Alexa to provide live NFL game scores—just in time for Super Bowl 50—and even ask it to predict who will win the game. In addition, you can ask which movies are playing tonight, for example, or ask for showtimes for specific flicks.

The newest update started rolling out to users late last week, according to Engadget, so if you haven’t gotten the update yet, you should get it soon.

The story behind the story: Amazon has been hard at work to further bolster the Echo’s capabilities since its general release last summer, and the company shows no sign that the updates will let up soon. Since September, Amazon Echo gained the ability to read your Kindle books to you (bedtime stories for grown-ups, anyone?) and offer business recommendations via Yelp integration. Amazon also added support for Insteon’s home automation products so you can control your lights using voice commands.
