While you iPhone, Android phone, and other mobile device records your video, the stand acts as your own personal robot cameraman. Just hold or clip the marker to yourself and the device will follow you or whatever you want in the shot. It’s perfect for FaceTime and video chat while you are moving around, pointing things out in a video presentation, or making a video of yourself with the kids.
The device is designed with a slot that's made especially to fit iPhones, but any phone slimmer than 11 milimeters will also fit. Point-and-shoot cameras can also sit on the device, so long as they have a tripod mount and weighs less than 6 ounces. Of course, you could make things even more interesting with a remote camera trigger or by doing a little time-lapse photography.
The Swivl is due to start shipping early next year, and you can pre-order one from the Satarii for $159.
