When you're driving, you want your iPod controls where your hands are--on the steering wheel. iSimple aims to eliminate dangerous and distracting iPod auto use with the WiFli, announced at this week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The iSimple WiFli kit consists of a wireless remote control with a steering wheel cradle and a dongle-style bug that jacks into an iPod or iPhone. Once connected, the WiFli transmits a digital FM radio signal to RDS-equipped car stereos, delivering superior sound without the feedback and static traditionally associated with FM modulators.

The WiFli also transmits iPod/iPhone track data to the radio so that car radios equipped with RDS technology can show song title and artist information on the radio's own display. The WiFli remote clips to the steering wheel and provides one-button, CD-style control of the iPod or iPhone, while the plug-in bug features a 5-pin USB port that connects to any standard Mini USB charging device to charge the iPod and transfer the RDS information.

iSimple also announced the IS77 TranzIt, which provides a direct, hardwired iPod connection through most FM radios. The WiFli will retail for US$80 and the TranzIt will sell for $90 when they become available in March.
