The Paperwhite lights itself and offers a pretty, high-contrast and high-resolution display. It's got the most even lighting of all the self-lighting readers.

Another good self-lighting reader, though the screen (and the lighting consistency) aren't as good as the Kindle Paperwhite.
Want the lightest possible reader? The Kobo Mini is the best choice, at just three-tenths of a pound.
