Remember when Lego Cuusoo's members supported an idea to make a Minecraft Lego set, and the toy brick company approved the design? Geeks and gamers rejoice--the Minecaft Lego set is now officially availble to buy online!

The Minecraft Micro World set consists of 480 pieces, and contains a hidden mine underneath a lush green terrain. What's more, it can be separted into four mini sets once you've completed the main project--well, with nearly 500 bricks, you could always make your own creation, too. What's interesting about the set is how the majority of the bricks used are the equivilent of Lego's 1x1 pieces, with a tile on top. It's not quite the typical Lego brick, but it's essential if you want to create that pixelated look.

Originally thought up by Chris Malloy, Kyle Tingey, and Bjarne Tveskov, the set comes with two characters: Steve and a creeper (of course!). It will set you back $35, with 1% of the proceeds going to a charity of Lego Cuusoo's choosing.

The Minecraft design is just one of many successes for Lego Cuusoo internationally--there is currently a western town and Legend of Zelda sets awaiting review, to name but a few. In fact, so many sets are hitting the required 10,000 votes needed for Lego to consider a set that Cuusoo proposal reviews are becoming a quarterly event. It's be great seeing people's ideas become a reality--espeically when it's something as GeekTech-worthy as Minecraft or Back to the Future!

Visit Lego Cuusoo to view and support new and upcoming ideas, or even submit an idea to Lego yourself.
