DIY Tables Are Made From Recycled Tech, Look Awesome
In some way, you probably do your own bit to try and help out the environment--most likely in some form of recycling. Not surprisingly, some of the most dangerous waste is that of computers and other gadgets, so any way of recycling such items is a plus. Some may turn parts into jewelry, but others melt them down to make beautiful and geeky furniture.
Rodrigo Alonso is a graphic designer from Chile, where people are really starting to focus on the issue of electronic waste. With that in mind, he decided to do his part by collecting all kinds of unwanted computer parts and transforming them into study tables and chairs. In addition to the parts, the sculpts are made by mixing epoxy resin and melted aluminium.
All of Rodrigo's tables use parts donated by Recycla, a company that tries to not only make use of recycled technology, but also to give Chileans work. As a result, each table is different. Rodrigo works on commission, so by getting in touch he can also make you one too.
