CyanogenMod 9 Coming Soon, Will Bring Tasty Hacking to Ice Cream Sandwich

Like any previous CyanogenMod project, version 9 will allow you to hack your device to put on custom apps. It also gives you a number of features that don't come standard with Android. If you are still hanging onto an earlier-generation Android device, CyanogenMod 9 could let you do a little unofficial software updating, so you can also enjoy all the swanky new UI and screen-capture goodness.
We still don't know which devices CyanogenMod 9 will support, but we expect that the list will be long--especially given the team’s history of rooting a plethora of Android devices and attempting to flash an Android OS onto a HP TouchPad.
Our first taste of an official release of Ice Cream Sandwich will be the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is rumored to release as early as tomorrow. We have no doubt the experience will be made even sweeter with some hacking in the next two months.
