Super Bowl Ads Hit Web Before Big Game

Do you remember a time when you would watch the Super Bowl for the ads? Mainly because your favorite team wasn't in the game, or post-1984 (the year of the famous Apple Macintosh ad), when advertisers started producing million-dollar ads that everyone would talk about the next day.

Those days are over - Super Bowl advertisers are now leaking their ads on the Web before they debut during the game, generating video views on their sites in advance before the opening kickoff begins. Here's a roundup of some of the ads we've discovered already - we'll update them as more are released:

Volkswagen Commercial: The Force Darth Vader, little kids and a car. ‘Nuff said. This video already has more than 1 million views on YouTube.

Volkswagen Commercial: Black Beetle Speaking of Volkswagen, they've also released this commercial showcasing the new Black Beetle. I'm not sure if this is a Super Bowl ad or just good timing.

Audi Big Game 2011 Teaser - Startled Smart (Part 1) Luxury automaker Audi has a "Scared Straight" spoof that shows life in a "luxury prison".

Audi Big Game 2011 Teaser - Kenny G Riot Suppressor (Part 2) Second spoof of life in the luxury prison, with Kenny G's role as a riot suppressor (he plays soothing music to calm down the inmates).
