At CES American Sound Works profiled its high-end Beta series speakers. The mix-and-match setup makes it a collection that can grow as necessary.
The highlight was the Beta-S2615 speakers which, at 42 inches tall, 19 inches wide, and 96 lbs., provided rich bass and treble for a minimum of 20 W per channel. Like the other Beta speakers, it comes in an all-black shell that works well in a living room. American Sound Works noted that the modular setup allows more speakers as the user gets more space.
The interesting part was how the Beta series emphasized balance. At CES, the company made it clear that all aspects of sound recording were considered. For instance, the "center" sound, the treble-based area where most dialog is heard, is clear no matter where a person is standing within the room.
The full Beta series is out now. Prices vary based on the outlet
