Divide and Conquer With Slice It! For Android
To succeed in Slice It!, you'll need to dig deep and remember those basic seventh-grade geometry skills. The fun, sketchbooklike graphics and challenging levels will keep you coming back for more. But unfortunately, Slice It! is marred by annoying ads that are persistent in interrupting your fun.
You're presented with a shape that you must "slice" with a pencil by dragging your finger across the display. The catch is that you must use only a certain number of slices to divide the shape into a specified number of pieces. For example, in one level I had to divide a large triangle into four equal-sized pieces with two slices. You're awarded stars based on how closely you can slice the shape into equal parts. If you get five stars on a level, you're awarded a hint that you can use on a later, more challenging level.
The shapes get more complex and the challenges get more difficult, making Slice It! quite addictive. Sometimes it was difficult to get the pencil to "slice" exactly where I wanted. It can sometimes take a few tries to anchor your pencil where you want it. There is an "undo" option, however, which is useful.
Unfortunately, because the app is free, it is riddled with annoying ads between levels. And to add insult to injury, these ads are mostly for iPhone apps! I know that the developers need to make money, but I wish the ads weren't so disruptive.
