Phone's got back: LG's curved G Flex makes an appearance
Bet you never thought that in this day and age, you could carry a boomerang in your pocket.
Curved smartphone displays aren't a new concept. Samsung has already announced the curved Samsung Galaxy Round, and now LG is the next device maker to hit the rumor mill with its 6-inch G Flex.
The Verge got its hands on a video that shows off LG’s G Flex in action, thanks to Argentinian broadcaster Telefe, which had some hands-on time with the device in its own studio. The G Flex, as seen above, maintains most of its aesthetic from the LG G2 handset that arrived just a few months back, including the rear-facing power and volume buttons, and the rounded corners featured prominently on several other LG handsets.
In a side-by-side comparison, the G Flex also appears bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S 4, laying some credence to the idea that it might not be a handheld phone, but a phone-tablet hybrid.
The G Flex hasn't been officially confirmed by LG. We've reached out to an LG representative for more clarification on the matter, but for now, it looks like this is the best teaser we've got for the South Korea-based company's forthcoming curved handset.
