Amazon Shop buttons are programmatically attached to all reviews, regardless of products' final review scores. Our parent company, IDG, receives advertisement revenue for shopping activity generated by the links. Because the buttons are attached programmatically, they should not be interpreted as editorial endorsements.
Facebook is nothing if not addictive. So it is unsurprising that Facebook rolled out an app for Android shortly after the phones were first announced. The Facebook app keeps you constantly plugged into whatever updates are going on within your personal network, satisfying the cravings and impulses that are endemic to Facebook's user base.
The Facebook app is divided into seven categories: news feed, profile, friends, photos, events, messages, and friend requests. Information is fast and easy to reach, and you can view nearly all of the information that you would be able to view from the Website.
Still, there are several things you can't do from the app, including adjust account settings, chat, and watch video. You have two options for updating your status: via the news feed, or from the wall section of your profile. The designers of the Facebook app also came up with the great feature that lets you post pictures from your phone's SD card, or post pictures that you take on the fly. The image quality of the pictures you look at on Facebook is good, and adding comments to them is easy; unfortunately, I couldn't tag photos with the app.
The Events category displays impending events that your friends have notified you about, along with upcoming birthdays. You can run search queries for your friends, or for people in general on Facebook.
The Facebook app's ability to sync with the Web site is far from perfect. In particular it continually reposted old notifications as if they were new, tricking me into thinking that someone on the Internet wanted to communicate with me about something new. This defect surely proves that humanity's social existence can be cruel and unyielding. On the other hand, at least you'll know as soon as possible about your friend's latest Farmville update.
