New York surveillance drones are inbound (and other stuff you missed)

MakerBot and Thingiverse are teaming up to host their very first hackathon on April 6 and 7 at MakerBot’s headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. The competition will have developers create their own great 3D printing apps using the Thingiverse API, which already powers MakerBot’s own Customizer app that lets amateur designers create customized 3D creations without any prior 3D design experience.
If you were a kid in the 1990s, you probably know the voice of KITT was also Cory Mathews' mentor-at-large on the original Boy Meets World TV series. If it wasn’t weird enough that Mr. Feeny basically followed Cory wherever he went, William Daniels will reprise his role for at least one guest appearance on the upcoming Girl Meets World. It will be interesting to see how the writers will manage to slip him into show.
Big Brother watching everyone with cameras and drones isn’t just a tin-foil hat conspiracy anymore. Now, even New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg says flying surveillance drones are no different than security cameras attached to walls. In a recent radio interview, the Mayor shared that he does not see a way to stop them. Of course you should take this with a grain of salt; after all a lot of crazy stuff has been said on the radio before, right?
