This massive pi calculation makes our heads hurt (and other stuff you missed)
Did you see the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch? We sure did. In fact, some of us even went as far as to watch it from within the freezing, flashing depths of Times Square. Why? Because. Anyway, in between all of the gadget-related madness, a whole bunch of other cool stuff did come up as well. Here's some of the things you might have missed.
If it looks like a Lego DogPound, is used like a Lego DogPound, it's - I'm sorry, there's nothing clever to be said about Alex 'OrionPax' Jone's DogPound. It's almost as adorable as the dog that has now made the construct its domicile. I especially like the little fire hydrant positioned next to the small building.
James Walters has been gaining a certain amount of fame on the Internet for his excellent impression of Tolkien's Gollum. While his previous videos have been great, this absolutely hilarious take on Gotye's highly infectious 'Somebody That I Used To Know' borders upon absolute sublimity. Does Gollum make a good relationship specialist? Not really, but he certainly makes a rib-tickling one.
Santa Clara University's Ed Karrels took on a familiar challenge not too long ago: He decided to break the record for calculating (almost) everyone's favorite mathematical constant. How far did he take it? Well, he took the ratio to eight quadrillion decimal places (the previous record was 10 trillion decimal places). Sadly, he didn't do it by hand, but we remain impressed by his efforts.
