Telepathy One may be a sleeker, more fashionable alternative to Google Glass
Even though Google Glass is something most of us would never be able to justify purchasing (at least not yet), it's been the source of a lot of geek-ish interest. Needless to say, such popularity tends to spawn competition. Telepathy One is a thin, little contraption that doesn't try to work a glass panel in front of your face and instead uses a 5-inch "virtual" display to show information within your field of vision.
Looking more than a fashion statement from the future than anything truly functional, Telepathy One is purportedly composed of "finely crafted, superior-quality micro-projection unit." No, I'm not sure what that means, either.
It's supposed to connect wirelessly to your smartphones and tablets (much like Google Glass), make social communication as easy as listening to music, and just, well, look as cool as a frozen cucumber. Just don't try putting it in your salad.
Telepathy Inc, the startup behind this upcoming device, has only been around since Janaury of this year. However, the company showed off a prototype at SXSW and it looks like it may come out in time for the holiday shopping season, so this may actually be a thing at some point.
