DreamCheeky toys perfect for annoying coworkers (video)

LAS VEGAS—Want to discreetly fire missiles at your friends? Dream Cheeky’s latest line of app-controlled toys can help you do just that.

Each toy in the company’s collection is controlled by a free companion app that you download to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch; your iOS device then controls the toy via Bluetooth. We had a chance to test some of them out during CES.

The iLaunch Thunder is a ground-based rocket launcher that fires up to four Nerf-esque Styrofoam missiles at the push of a button. Use the app to aim the barrel at your desired target—you can move it around almost 360 degrees, and tilt it up or down. Just drag your finger across the screen, or vertically up and down the screen, to control its movements. When you’re ready to fire, just tap and hold.

For an airborne assault, you’ll want the iStrike Shuttle. This helicopter flies through the air and drops a ping-pong ball onto unsuspecting passerby below, using a different app with a different set of controls from the Thunder. You can fly the drone up to 30 feet away from your iOS device, and it’s a lot of fun once you get a hang of the controls.

The iStrike Shuttle is a Kickstarter success story, and is now available for $130. The iLaunch Thunder is available for $90.
