Cubieboard is like a Raspberry Pi on steroids
Here at GeekTech, we’re big fans of tiny Linux computer boards like the Raspberry Pi. If you wanted even more power after the Raspberry Pi got itsturbo on and a serious RAM upgrade, you might want to take a look at the amped up specs on the Cubieboard.
As Geek.com points out, the Cubieboard is a monster of a board with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor as well as a separate Mali400 GPU. It also packs a whole gigabyte of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage to help it run Android, Ubuntu, or Linux distros.
Like any good computer on a stick, the Cubieboard has all the Ethernet, HDMI, and USB ports to make it a super-small Linux computer or an Android-powered Smart TV. One thing that the Cubieboard has that the others don’t is a built-in SATA port that lets it power a hard drive all on its own, making it a real media powerhouse.
If you want you own Cubieboard , you can help it reach production through the crowd-funding site Indiegogo. The early-bird discounts (with prices as low as $20) are all sold out by now, but as of this writing you can still nab a $60 Cubieboard if you act quickly.
