World’s fastest baby stroller goes 50 miles per hour
Colin FurzeWhen you take you baby out in a stroller, it’s probably going to be for a short, leisurely stroll around the block. Not so for Colin Furze, a British inventor who may have created the world’s fastest baby carriage.
Furze is known for building a few extreme things, such as a motorcycle that’s longer than two buses, and he formerly held the current Guinness World Record for the largest bonfire. This week, according to Geeky Gadgets, he hopes to take the record for the world’s fastest stroller on October 14th at the UK’s Avon Park drag strip.
Furze built his insanely fast Megapram by fabricating his own custom three-wheel platform equipped with a 125-cubic-centimeter engine. According to Furze the engine gives him about 10 horsepower across four gears. To control it, Furze stands behind it, and uses a few buttons to turn it left or right along with a pair of mountain bike gear shifters to accelerate and brake.
To obtain the record for the world’s fastest pram, the Megapram needs to exceed 30 miles per hour. While testing the pram on a long stretch of private road, the Megapram hit 50 miles per hour, so we think Furze will officially get the record.
