WebOS runs on the Asus Transformer Prime, but it doesn't do much yet
Now that HP has made an open-source version of WebOS available for tinkerers to download, we fully expect to see it appear on all sorts of hardware. As it happens, one of the first lucky gadgets to run the software is an Asus Transformer Prime.
Sadly, Stephen hasn't shared too many details as to how he did it, but it sure looks good at first glance. In a Twitter conversation Stephen does mention that the touchscreen doesn’t work too great, and that the tablet doesn’t do an awful lot just yet.
The software is still pretty fresh, so there are a few kinks and tablets which you can’t port this to—like a TouchPad, oddly enough. Although better functionality will probably come with further iterations.
You can download either of the versions from HP’s project blog.
