Instacube is a beautiful Android-based photo frame for Instagram
Imagine if your Instagram feed could leave your smartphone, and instead could live on a beautiful, Android-powered specialized Instagram frame. Sound cool to you? This is what the team behind Instacube is working on.
With an ARM-based processor, 4GB of internal memory, a 6.5-inch LCD touchscreen, and built-in Wi-Fi, Instacube might just be the digital picture frame of tomorrow. Instacube automatically pulls in your photos from Instagram, where you can choose which feed or hashtag you'd like to view today.
The picture frame is battery powered, so it's completely portable, and it comes equipped with three hardware buttons on top: a power button, a grid button for switching between feeds, and heart button for likes.
Instacube is a creation of D2M Design to Matter, a design firm from Silicon Valley, and will become a reality once the funding on Kickstarter reaches $250,000. With 29 days to go and over $200,000 to their name already, Instacube's chances look pretty good. All the $99 classic Inatacubes have already been snatched, but you can still be among the first to get one for a $149 pledge.
If this sounds at all intriguing, do watch the Instacube video and see this cool product in action. While its usefulness is debatable, no one can deny its extraordinary design.
