AT&T Adds Palm Pre Plus, Pixi Plus to Lineup
The Pre Plus will sell for $150 and the Pixi Plus will sell for $50, both after a two-year contract and a mail-in rebate, AT&T said.
The Pre Plus comes with 16 GB of storage, as compared with the original Palm Pre which has a fixed 8GB. The Pixi Plus now offers Wi-Fi.
AT&T's announcement of support for the Palm phones comes in advance of this week's CTIA Wireless conference in Las Vegas. AT&T is the nation's second-largest wireless carrier behind the No.1 carrier Verizon Wireless.
AT&T didn't say when the Palm devices will be on sale.
Palm's WebOS devices went on sale recently at Verizon Wireless. Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein last week said that had sales started before the Motorola Droid at that carrier, the Palm sales would have done better than the Droid. Sales of the Palm Pre and Pixi have been below expectations.
