Toshiba Launches New Low-Power Satellite Netbooks

Toshiba today revealed two new additions to its Satellite range of laptops, dubbed the T135 and T115.

The low-power portables both offer up an Intel Celeron dual-core processor, with the 13.3-inch T135 housing a 500GB hard drive and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, whereas the smaller 11.6-inch T115 model offers up 250GB of storage and up to 3GB of RAM.

Powered by Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7, the netbooks also pack in a number of standard characteristics, including Bluetooth, 802.11 Wi-Fi, three USB 2.0 ports, a welcomed HDMI output, and a built-in webcam.

Toshiba's new netbooks have been praised for their light weight and long battery life, with the T135 weighing in at just under 1.8kg and the T115 weighing around 1.6kg. The Satellite netbooks, according to Toshiba, will offer an average battery life of 9 hours, however some reports claim that a run time of 11 hours can be achieved.

In the United Kingdom, the T135 will be known as the T130, with the T115 being dubbed the T110. The new Satellite notebooks are due to hit stores, along with Windows 7, on October 22, with the smaller T115 starting at $449 and the T135 being available from $599.
