LG Denies Pulling out of Plasma Market

LG has denied it is considering pulling out of the plasma TV market.

The rumours started after a Korean newspaper Kyodo News claimed vice president at LG Lee Gyu-hong said in an interview that LG was aiming to "reduce costs" and did not "see a future" in plasma technology.

However, the TV manufacturer quickly denied the rumours. LG, which was one of the founding members of the Plasma Display Coalition, said it was still committed to producing plasma screens and that they were an important part of the flat panel display market.

The company also revealed it will concentrate on producing 50in and bigger screens, as it claims this is where there's most demand.
