7 Stupid Tech Videos

It's been a lousy week. Read the news and you can't help but want to just bury your head in the sand. Well, due to overlapping deadlines and a long-overdue need for a laugh, I cobbled together several goofy videos for gamers, nerds, and gamer nerds (like myself). But first, a nod of thanks goes to barelydigital.com, which gave me the idea to scour the Web for videos. This new site, created by the team behind Obama Girl, is built around the idea of lampooning tech. Currently in beta, they have a couple original clips up--and a growing collection of stuff assembled from all over the Web. (They promise more original programming in the coming weeks.) What I've seen is hit or miss, but, hey, props to those guys for trying. In the meantime, for your viewing pleasure, keep scrolling for a few of the better finds.

Batman Gets Pwned -- A behind-the-scenes look at the Batcave and playing Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Onion News Network: World of World of WarCraft -- A game where you're a playing a gamer that's playing a game. There's a thinker for you.

Real Life Mario Kart -- Some guy outfits a go-cart and speeds down city streets. Watch out for banana peels.

Onion News Network: The MacBook Wheel -- A revolution in MacBooks...and a great hoax newscast. What I loved is that some people actually thought that this was real.

Cell phone in a microwave -- In case you ever wondered what would happen if you nuked your BlackBerry....

Mega64: Assassin's Creed -- Imagine a squad of goofballs that take games and re-enact them in public places. That is what Mega64 is all about. This cult favorite among the gaming set has been around for some time--and you'll find plenty more of their stuff on YouTube (and at mega64.com)

Last (no. 7), but not least, check out the Microsoft SongSmith meme that's busting out on YouTube. When we first reported it a few days back, we were getting sucked in by all the horrible musical mash-ups. Now, we've already assembled our five "favorite" songs here!

Until next time...
